Good Morning Everyone,
Every Fall, I look forward to the turning of the leaves on the trees and rustling through the fallen ones on the sidewalk. Yesterday as I drove, I finally saw a few glimmers of “Fall-ing Leaves.” We’ve had a long summer of hot and humid weather, and I’m really looking forward to warm-ish days and cool nights. How about you?
Fall weather gets me ready for those soups and stews that warm the belly and calm the soul. We have chickens and roasts abundantly, and we can still get summer/early fall fruits and veggies at the farm stand. On Saturday, Candice picked up spaghetti squash, big honey crisp apples (with no wax on the skins), zucchini, tomatoes, and homemade jams. What a treat! You can still ask her to bring some for you when she stops there during her next trip to the farms.
Also, we have Whole Chickens on sale. Make sure to read “Keepin’ It Brief“ below.
PLEASE NOTE: This order is due no later than MONDAY EVENING, Oct. 7th for delivery SATURDAY, Oct. 13th. If you can’t order by then, please call (215) 842-2662.
“Keepin’ It Brief”:
ON SALE: Whole Chickens (3-4 lbs.) are on sale with this order for $3.95/lb. Make sure to stock up and save! All other chicken parts are available at regular prices.
Thanksgiving Turkeys — Please shoot us an email, and let us know if you’d like to get a turkey for Thanksgiving again this year. We’re trying to give the farm an idea of the quantity we will order, so he can plan on other buyers. It’s important to know an estimated number right now. The turkeys are already growing!
FYI! The smaller turkeys will most likely be freshly frozen (no difference from fresh) since they have to be processed before they become too large. We will be picking them up on Monday before thanksgiving, giving you ample time for safe thawing in the fridge. Larger birds will be freshly processed on the day of pick-up. We will let you know more about pricing in a later email.
Fruits and Veggies — Candice is still offering to pick up a variety of produce at the Amish vegetable & fruit stand along her way in Lancaster County Summer’s bounty is still plentiful, and it’s slowly changing with the season! Squashes and late Summer fare are great when they come freshly picked! Everything she has brought us has been delightfully fresh!
This Amish stand is open from late May through mid-November. Just ask us to pick up your choices when you put in your order. If they have them, she’ll be glad to pick them up to go with your other items. Prices vary as the season goes along. There’s nothing like getting that fresh-picked goodness!
PLEASE NOTE: All orders are due by next Monday evening, Oct. 7th. Order now! Delivery will be on SATURDAY, Oct. 13th.
***We will go to the farms again on Saturday, October 22th. Since that will be Halloween weekend, we will try to have your orders ready early.
In the meantime, be well and eat healthy.
In peace,
Candice and Nancy Price
