Hi, Folks! Hope this finds you safe and well! — PLEASE ORDER EARLY!!! And, don’t forget to read “News of All Sorts” below.
As things get more stressful around us, we sometimes tend to slip into bad eating habits. It’s one of my failings, I’m afraid. But, we all still need to focus on eating for health and wellbeing. We at Persnickety Protein can help by making one of those trips to buy food for you, without the long unhealthy lines and picked-over foods.
At the same tme, Candice and I need your help to spread the word to others about the right foods that are available from family farms. Please join us in educating your friends, family and neighbors, so that our efforts reach more people, as factory farms are becoming worse (and worse for our health.)
Let us know if you’d like us to reach out to interested folks, or ask us for Persnickety Protein postcards to share. I will send all the latest information to them electronically. We are, as always, committed to making the long trips for those who are health conscious and love good food!
Our “distance buying” procedures have been working quite well, like:
–We continue to disinfect constantly and place all orders in separate sanitized coolers.
–We will email your invoice before you pick up your order, identify your cooler, with no need to touch other people’s food (or have them touch yours.)
–All you need to do is place your check between our doors (made out to Nancy Price) when you pick up. If possible, do not pay in cash. That’s it! Thanks!
PLEASE NOTE: If you need to pay with PayPal, PLEASE make sure to pay as a “friend” NOT AS A “PURCHASE” to avoid fees for you and us. Payment should be made before you pick up your order. Let us know ahead of time if you are paying by PayPal.
Be watching for us to email your invoice as soon as we pack the orders. Thank you for your patience during this process.
NEWS OF ALL SORTS:
- Dairy– All raw milk items, including a2a2 raw milk and milk products and more raw cheeses are available while Candice is able to go out to the farms.
This time, we are offering some different cheeses. Make sure to check out the list!
- Organic Veggie Boxes – Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative is still offering a less expensive “share” during the “distancing situation,” consisting of 8 varieties of veggies (all organic) to be picked up on Friday before farm day. You will be charged for the box with the rest of your order, unless you’ve only ordered a Veggie Box. See the Veggie Box attachment.
- Chickens and Parts – We can now get more of a variety (frozen, of course) for this order. Make sure to stock up! Our farmer in Oxford is just about ready with more Whole Chickens weighing 3-4 lbs. each. Delicious!
- Meat Selections – I’m sure you’ve noticed all the “shaded” items on our order list recently. However, the butchers are catching up slowly, and we should see more meat varieties offered soon. One of the last things to show up will be the sausages, since they take more time and effort on the part of the butchers, but we should have a bigger supply of those shortly, too.
Always ask questions by email or phone (215) 842-2662 to be sure you’re ordering exactly what you want. This order is due by Monday, July 13th. The order pick-up will be Saturday, July 18th.
Looking forward to seeing you at the next delivery from ALL of the farms, even if it’s just a wave out my window! Until then, be well, have hope, and love one another! This pandemic won’t last forever, as long as we are diligent with our precautions. Find positive ways to spend your every day, and pray for all those who have been affected by it.
REMEMBER: Continue to wash your hands often, wear a face mask, and keep a safe distance! Be safe! Be well!

Remember, buying from Family Farms that feed and pasture their animals properly and treat them humanely is not only better food for the health of you and your family, it’s also supporting those farms to help them flourish. It also sends a BIG message to the factory farm industry, that they don’t rule over our health and we won’t support their practices. IT’S THE RIGHT THING TO DO! SPREAD THE WORD!!! Support Family Farms!!!
