VERY IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE (below) THE SCHEDULE FOR ORDERING BETWEEN NOW AND THE END OF THE YEAR!
Good Morning, Folks!
Suddenly, it’s looking a lot more like Fall. A tremendous amount of leaves outside my window have not only turned beautiful colors, but with the rains yesterday, most are suddenly on the ground. It looks like a true picture of the Fall season – magnificent!!!
We’re coming around to Thanksgiving, and we’re excited to bring everyone their special pastured turkey. Read below about pre-ordering a fantastic bird for your festive, holiday table. And, other items, too!
SCHEDULE FOR ORDERING BETWEEN NOW AND THE END OF THE YEAR: You have a chance to make a “regular” order, to be delivered at the same time as the turkeys on Tuesday, November 24th. THESE ITEMS ARE DUE WITH THE ORDER FORM BY NEXT WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 18TH. Pre-orders of turkeys are due today! The next “regular” order after the Turkey Run will not be until December 19th.
Read on for all the NEWS:
1. THANKSGIVING TURKEYS: DEADLINE FOR PRE-ORDERING IS TODAY, NOVEMBER 13TH.
The pandemic shouldn’t spoil your celebration, even if it will be just immediate family. AND turkeys are one of those meats that are great for leftover dishes over the next few days. Nothing goes to waste! And, I’ll be sending recipes.
A TIP I have heard recently — You can “FaceTime” with friends and family during Thanksgiving dinner, so you don’t miss the feeling of being together.
2. CHICKEN THIGHS: We will be able to get Chicken Thighs (bone-in, skin-on) in time for the Thanksgiving Turkey Run trip to the farms. So, they’re back on the regular order list (attached) for ordering with your “regular” items this time.
3. VEGGIE BOXES: You can still order Veggie Boxes, full of Fall items. In addition, new Fall squashes (acorn squash is my favorite) will be among the surprise box of the freshest produce available.
NOTE: To order a veggie box, just let me know in your email, since putting the extra attachment (order form) messes up transmission to so many people right now.
4. CASTLE VALLEY MILL: We’ve expanded our flour list for those who are baking. Soft Whole Wheat Flour is back, too. Most flours/berries are 2 lbs. each in a heavy zip-loc type plastic bag for easy storage. Only the Soft Whole Wheat Flour is a 10 lb. bag. And, the corn meal (2 lbs.) is back in stock.
With this order, we continue to offer more big brown eggs, exceptional meats of all sorts, and delicious dairy selections, like cottage cheese and sour cream made from fresh raw milk. The milk from the A2A2 cows is our favorite!
***New Order List is attached.***
Always ask questions by email or phone (215) 842-2662 to be sure you’re ordering exactly what you want.
This order is due by WEDNESDAY, November 18TH. The order pick-up along with the turkeys will be Tuesday, November 24th. PLEASE order early, and call us if you have questions about the schedule!
Please help us spread the word to others about the right foods that are available from family farms. Please join us in educating your friends, family and neighbors, so that our efforts reach more people, as factory farms are becoming worse (and worse for our health.)
Let us know if you’d like us to reach out to interested folks, or ask us for Persnickety Protein postcards to share. I will send all the latest information to them electronically. We are, as always, committed to making the long trips for those who are health conscious and love good food!
Our “distance buying” procedures have been working quite well, and we will continue to exercise them for now.
Looking forward to seeing you at the next delivery from ALL of the farms! Until then, be well, have hope, and love one another!
REMEMBER: Continue to wash your hands often, wear a face mask, and keep a safe distance! NO BIG GATHERINGS YET! Be safe! Be well!

Remember, buying from Family Farms that feed and pasture their animals properly and treat them humanely is not only better food for the health of you and your family, it’s also supporting those farms to help them flourish. It also sends a BIG message to the factory farm industry, that they don’t rule over our health and we won’t support their practices. IT’S THE RIGHT THING TO DO! SPREAD THE WORD!!! Support Family Farms!!!
