Hello, Everyone!

Thanks for your continued support of the small family farms we buy from, going into another year ahead. It’s been an honor to bring these fine foods to you and your families, and we have renewed optimism as we all face still more challenges in 2021. We hope that you are all safe and well and continue to be so.

Please read on for all the NEWS:

1. FRESHLY FROZEN TURKEYS & SOME PARTS: 

There are still a few small turkeys and a few packages of parts (thighs, wings, & breasts) left.

PLEASE ORDER IMMEDIATELY since they are on a “1st-come-1st-served” basis. We can’t guarantee a particular weight, but the whole turkeys should be in the 12-13 range. And, we will need A DEPOSIT to order a whole turkey or breast (that will be subtracted from your order on delivery day.)

2. WHOLE CHICKENS: There’s nothing better on a cold night than a house filled with the smell of a chicken roasting in the oven (or instant pot) with lots of veggies. Just add some biscuits, and you have a meal fit for royalty. Really easy and super delicious. We can get plenty this Winter for you!

3. BIG BROWN EGGS: Eggs are in limited quantity from now til spring, but we will try to get them whenever possible. Don’t stop ordering, and we will do our best to supply them for you.

4. VEGGIE BOXES: Veggie Boxes will be available as long as COVID continues. There is usually an 8 item assortment in each box, and the produce changes as the seasons go along.

NOTE: To order a veggie box, just let me know in your email. See below for the details! **

We continue to offer exceptional meats of all sorts, and delicious dairy selections, like butter, cottage cheese and sour cream made from fresh raw milk. The milk from the A2A2 cows is our favorite! Look for it under dairy “A2A2” shaded in light green. Quantities may vary, but we will try to get whatever you desire.

Our “distance buying” procedures continue to work quite well, and we will continue to exercise them for the foreseeable future.

** Description for Veggie Boxes from the farm:

“Your share (of veggies) could include a mix of some of the following items: arugula, beets, cabbage, carrots, chard, collards, kales, mixed lettuce, mushrooms, onions, potatoes, radishes, rutabagas, spinach, sweet potatoes, and turnips — whatever is in season!

We proudly source produce from our member farmers in Lancaster, PA. We occasionally source veggies from other local and regional partners who also strive to provide the best organic produce available.

Our farmers are proud of the quality produce they grow, and each crop’s health and vitality is taken into consideration as they plan and refine their cultivation techniques season after season, year after year.”

Here are the particulars to know: “The boxes would have a mix of 8 produce items (could include things like:1/2 lb. spinach, several beets, squashes, etc.) and are $28.00/box. The boxes would be prepacked and ready to go.”

Avoid a trip to the crowded produce market/farmers’ market! You would pick up your box on Friday afternoon, while they’re REALLY FRESH! The other Persnickety Protein items would be picked up on Saturday afternoon as usual.

A REMINDER: Please read carefully!

Please fill in the column on the order list entitled “Quantity” with how many POUNDS you want – NOT NUMBER OF PACKAGES.  Most items come in one-pound packages.  But, other items, such as whole chickens and roasts, may weigh 2-9+ lbs. each. 

 ***When in doubt about what approximate weight to order, please check with us before your order is placed, so they’ll be no surprises.***
